On the afternoon of December 7th, the "Synergistic Development of Ginseng and Fungi" 2025 Changchun High-Quality Edible and Medicinal Fungi Conference, organized by the Changchun Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau and Jilin Agricultural University, was successfully held in the Fugui Hall of the Northeast Asia International Conference Center. As a key event of the Changchun Health Industry Expo, the conference brought together authoritative experts and industry representatives from government agencies, universities, research institutions, and enterprises. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the current status, technological innovation, and pathways for high-quality development of the edible and medicinal fungi industry, injecting new momentum into the revitalization of this sector in Jilin Province and across the nation.

The conference was presided over by Mai Chao, Deputy Director of the Jilin Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Cao Wu, Vice Mayor of Changchun Municipal People's Government, Li Qiyun, President of Jilin Agricultural University, and Liu Wei, Vice President of the China Edible Fungi Association, delivered opening speeches respectively. They congratulated the convening of the conference, emphasized the significant role of the edible and medicinal fungi industry in promoting agricultural modernization and rural revitalization, and expressed hope that the "Ginseng-Fungi Synergy" mechanism would drive industry integration and upgrading.




Academician Li Yu, Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, National Model in Poverty Alleviation, Chairman of the International Society for Medicinal Mushrooms, and Director of the Academic Committee of Jilin Agricultural University, fully affirmed Jilin's advantages in the development and scientific research of edible and medicinal fungi resources in his address. He pointed out that technological empowerment and whole-industry-chain collaboration are key pathways for high-quality industrial development and expressed high expectations for the future application prospects of fungal resources in health, ecology, and other fields.

During the thematic report session, Tan Qi, President of the World Society for Mushroom Biology and Mushroom Products, systematically analyzed the current status and future trends of the global edible fungi industry. Liu Ziqiang, Director of the Tea, Beverage, Horticulture, and Edible Fungi Department of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce & Animal By-Products, explored "The Jilin Fungi Path," discussing how Jilin's edible and medicinal fungi industry can leverage its regional strengths and envision its ultimate industrial landscape. Professor Liu Tingting from Jilin Agricultural University shared cutting-edge technologies and innovative practices in the holistic, high-value utilization of edible fungi.



As an enterprise representative, Li Zhenhao, Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Shouxian Valley Medical Co., Ltd., shared practical experience in constructing a "horizontal-vertical" integrated whole-industry-chain standardization system with the theme "Technological Innovation and Standard Leadership to Promote High-Quality Development of the Lingzhi (Reishi) Industry." Liu Jie, Deputy General Manager of Jilin Sanghuang (Mulberry Yellow) Biotechnology Group Co., Ltd., elaborated on the innovative development path of the Sanghuang industry through the deep integration of traditional heritage and modern technology under the theme "Inheriting Ancient Wisdom, Empowering with Modern Technology."


Focusing on "High-Quality Development of Edible and Medicinal Fungi," the conference facilitated policy interpretation, academic discussions, and industry dialogue, establishing an integrated platform for communication among government, industry, academia, research, and application. It provided important insights and actionable references for further enhancing the core competitiveness of Jilin's edible and medicinal fungi industry and promoting industrial structure optimization and rural revitalization.
The conference concluded amidst enthusiastic exchanges. Participants unanimously agreed that, with the dual impetus of technological drive and policy guidance, the edible and medicinal fungi industry is poised for even broader development prospects.


At the edible and medicinal fungi exhibition area within the "Jihao" Specialty Products Pavilion, the center's achievements were prominently showcased. Seven companies were specially invited to participate in this exhibition: Shouxian Valley, Sanghuang Biotechnology, Fuzhidao, Deliya, Shanzhiyuan, Beicha Agricultural Development, and Taoyuan Small Wood Ear. Over 150 products were displayed, including new materials, health products, foods, personal care items, and pharmaceuticals derived from edible and medicinal fungi. This fully demonstrated the center's professional strength in the field and contributed to enhancing the quality and efficiency of the fungal industry, promoting the rapid development of new quality agricultural productivity. It also made a positive contribution to the promotion of "Jihao" specialty products, earning praise from all sectors.
