On November 8th, the "2025 International Shiitake Mushroom Supply Chain Conference" grandly opened at Banyang Mountain Villa in Zibo. With the core theme of "Gathering Global Shiitake Mushroom Industry Power to Promote Resource Aggregation and Value Upgrading," this conference attracted industry leaders, experts, scholars, well-known enterprises, and distributors from around the world to gather together for an in-depth dialogue and strategic cooperation on the future development of the shiitake mushroom industry.

This conference, hosted by Shandong Qihe Biotechnology Co., Ltd. of the Edible Fungi and Products Branch of the China Chamber of Commerce for Foodstuffs and Native Produce, aimed to explore in depth the high-quality development path of the global shiitake mushroom industry from multiple dimensions, including collaborative innovation between industry, academia, and research, seamless supply chain integration, and dual-track expansion of domestic and international trade markets. Open to the world, the conference established a high-level, international exchange platform with pragmatic measures, injecting strong momentum into the co-construction and prosperity of the global shiitake mushroom industry ecosystem.

Li Yu, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, a national model of poverty alleviation, President of the International Society for Medicinal Fungi, and Director of the Academic Committee of Jilin Agricultural University, delivered a speech.

He stated that the successful practice of the "Qihe Model" has become a vivid example of innovative development in China's shiitake mushroom industry. Through the collaborative path of "smart factory + industrial base + cooperative + farmer," it has not only helped tens of thousands of farmers increase their income and become wealthy, but also, driven by both policy and technology, built a modern shiitake mushroom industrial cluster from breeding to export, placing it at the forefront of the globalization of shiitake mushroom development in China. The innovative model of "domestic mycelium cultivation, overseas mushroom production, and local market launch of fresh mushrooms" has contributed Chinese wisdom to enhancing the resilience and efficiency of the global supply chain.

In his speech, Academician Li Yu put forward four expectations for the construction of the national shiitake mushroom supply chain: 1. Adhere to innovation-driven development and consolidate the foundation of the industry. 2. Optimize the supply chain system and enhance development resilience. 3. Deepen international cooperation and broaden development space. 4. Practice green concepts and protect the ecological homeland. We hope that this conference will serve as a new starting point, allowing us to pool our wisdom, deepen collaboration, and move forward hand in hand to jointly promote the shiitake mushroom supply chain in China and even globally towards a higher quality, more efficient, and more sustainable future!

Liu Pengfei, Deputy District Head of Zichuan District Government, Zibo City, delivered a speech on behalf of the Zichuan District Party Committee and Government, welcoming all the guests.

He stated that in recent years, Zichuan District has leveraged the leading role of Qihe Biotechnology to drive income growth and prosperity for over 200 villages and more than 60,000 farmers. The shiitake mushroom industry has become a veritable industry that enriches the people, strengthens the district, and serves as a pillar industry, exploring pathways, providing models, and adding luster to the revitalization of rural industries in Zichuan District. We will take this conference as an opportunity to increase efforts in cultivating the shiitake mushroom industry, enhance the capacity for deep processing of agricultural products, expand into vast domestic and international markets, and create more well-known brands. Zichuan District will, as always, support and assist Qihe Biotechnology in expanding and strengthening the shiitake mushroom industry, bringing more high-quality agricultural products to ordinary households and making more renowned products famous both at home and abroad. That afternoon, the conference moved into its thematic discussion session. More than ten experts and scholars from the industry chain conducted in-depth discussions on two core topics: "New Paths for Shiitake Mushroom Marketing" and "How the Shiitake Mushroom Industry Can Break Boundaries and Integrate into the Larger Food Landscape." They provided forward-looking ideas and practical strategic suggestions for the branding and cross-sectoral development of the shiitake mushroom industry.
