Having worked in the edible mushroom industry for over 30 years, I have always had one wish: to help quality local resources find great enterprises, help enterprises' fine products find broader markets, and foster genuine, tangible cooperation between China's mushroom industry and international peers.
At this year's Xiamen Expo, we are dedicated to turning this wish into reality.
From September 20 to 22, the 2026 Edible Mushroom Whole Industry Chain (Xiamen) Innovation Expo, hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce of I/E of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal By-products (CFNA), will be held at the Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center (Baixiang Venue).
With just two weeks away, I would like to once again sincerely invite local governments of major mushroom-producing regions, industry enterprises, and friends: Come to Xiamen, let's discuss industry trends, find partners, and do business together!

First, allow me to share several key highlights with you.
Academician Li Yu will participate throughout the event to exchange ideas with attendees. Sylvan has organized a major delegation to exhibit and participate in Xiamen, hosting the "Sylvan Night" on the evening of September 20 to bring Chinese and international peers together in a relaxed atmosphere. International companies such as Christiaens Group, GTL Europe, Dutch Mushroom Projects, and HOVING HOLLAND are also officially listed as exhibitors.

Major Report Release:
We have a crucial report initiative to share with you at this edition.
Jointly promoted by CFNA and Sylvan, the report titled "Mushroom Insight China: The Chinese Answer to a Mushroom — 2026 China Agaricus Bisporus Consumption Insight Report" (provisional title) is scheduled to be officially presented to the industry on the morning of September 20 after the opening ceremony, delivered by Mr. Mark O, Head of Sylvan Asia-Pacific, on behalf of both parties.
Over the years, we have continuously studied how to grow more mushrooms with better quality and lower cost. This time, we want to thoroughly analyze consumers: why they buy or don't buy, what they like, what they worry about, and how to encourage them to buy, cook, and enjoy mushrooms more.
Cultivating mushrooms is only the first step. Only when consumers are willing to make continuous purchases can the industry chain truly connect to the market.
Special thanks to Mr. Qi Yanquan, Global CEO of Sylvan, for his vision and support, as well as Mr. Li Linchun, Mr. Mark O, and the dedicated teams for their hard work. Together, we strive to achieve meaningful outcomes for the industry.
I especially invite friends from major edible mushroom producing regions to join us in Xiamen.
From poverty alleviation to rural revitalization, edible mushrooms carry local hopes for industrial development, employment, and income growth. Building a sustainable industry requires superior varieties, advanced technologies, well-managed enterprises, and stable markets.
We welcome you to bring local specialty products, investment projects, and key enterprises to Xiamen: to connect with investment and operation partners, interface with processing, sales, and export businesses, promote local brands, and gain direct insight into international market needs. We are eager to understand regional needs in advance and connect you with appropriate partners so you come with clear goals and leave with actionable collaborations.

I would also like to urge domestic enterprises: Take a serious look at global opportunities for Chinese specialty mushrooms!
Specialty mushrooms such as Morels, Lion's Mane, and Maitake offer distinct flavors and textures, enriching international catering, retail, and food product development. Opportunities exist not only for fresh, dried, frozen, and processed mushrooms, but also for spawn, raw materials, equipment, technical services, and expertise.
Where are the opportunities? What varieties, specifications, packaging, and supply arrangements do international clients require? What conditions and teams are needed for localized overseas production?
These questions are best addressed face-to-face with international peers. Producers, trading companies, spawn suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and technical teams are warmly welcome in Xiamen to see how their products and capabilities can align with global market demands.
To reunite with old friends and meet new ones: I am deeply grateful for your support. Beyond coming together, I hope this gathering creates local partnerships, drives corporate business, and expands new horizons for the industry.
A few booth spaces remain on the 2nd floor. Interested enterprises please contact us as soon as possible. Regional delegations, professional buyers, and project matchmaking requests are welcome to submit requirements in advance.
