For growers and mushroom businesses, competitiveness is increasingly shaped by what happens across the entire value chain: strain quality, substrate performance, farm design, climate control, labour efficiency, processing, branding and access to market.

China’s mushroom sector is moving quickly in all of these areas. Production regions are upgrading their industrial systems, farms are adopting more standardized and automated methods, and companies are developing new products and market channels for both domestic and international customers.

International Mushroom Days, China 2026—officially known as the 2026 Mushroom Whole Industry Chain Innovation Expo (Xiamen)—will bring these capabilities together from 20 to 22 September 2026 at the Xiamen Fliport Conference & Exhibition Center.

Organized by the China Chamber of Commerce of Import & Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce & Animal By-products (CFNA), the Expo will offer international growers, technology providers, processors, brands, traders and buyers a practical view of China’s mushroom industry—from cultivation inputs and production systems to value-added products, distribution and international trade.

Latest Exhibitor Update

With the event approaching, participation from mushroom enterprises, major production regions, cultivation-technology providers, brands and industry-service companies is accelerating.

The exhibitor list published as of 9 August already included more than 100 confirmed organizations across approximately 20 industry categories. Further exhibitors and regional delegations have continued to join since then.

Hall A: More Than 95% Booked

Hall A—the Intelligent Mushroom Manufacturing Hall—is now more than 95% booked, with only a limited number of standard booths remaining.

Representative Chinese equipment manufacturers, including Qianda, Hongye, Xingbao, Yili, Shuanglitai, Kaidi and Keheng, have confirmed their participation and secured large custom-built stands.

They will present new technologies and practical solutions in areas including:

• intelligent production lines;

• mushroom-farm and factory design;

• environmental-control systems;

• refrigeration and clean-room engineering;

• factory cultivation;

• automated harvesting;

• energy efficiency;

• digital production management.

For companies seeking to introduce new equipment, launch new technologies or meet Chinese growers and project owners, only limited exhibition space now remains in Hall A.

Hall B: Production Regions and Brands Gathering

Hall B—the Mushroom Products Hall—will focus on mushroom products, brands, regional industries, processing and market development.

Delegations from major mushroom-producing regions—including Suizhou, Zoucheng, Gutian, Jilin and Jintang—have confirmed their participation.

They will present regional speciality products, industrial capabilities, public brands and opportunities for investment and cooperation. Products on display will include shiitake mushrooms, tremella, wood ear mushrooms, Ganoderma, medicinal mushroom products, processed foods and other regional specialities.

Leading growers, processors and brands—including Shierfeng, Qihe, Juli, Niu Furen, Lisa, Zhongyu and Xinrun—have also secured custom-built stands.

Their activities cover mushroom-strain development, large-scale cultivation, deep processing, brand building, product trade and distribution.

Custom-built booths and prime locations along the main aisles in Hall B are continuing to be booked, and availability is narrowing. International companies wishing to introduce technologies, products or services to the Chinese market may still apply for exhibition space.

The progress of exhibitor recruitment is more than a measure of booth occupancy. It shows that a broad industrial ecosystem—from biology and engineering to products, brands and markets—is coming together in Xiamen.

A Whole Value Chain in One Place

China is widely recognized for the scale and diversity of its mushroom production. Production volume, however, tells only part of the story.

Chinese mushroom enterprises are increasingly investing in improved genetics, standardized cultivation, automation, intelligent environmental control, energy efficiency, deep processing, functional products and new market channels.

The Xiamen Expo has therefore been developed as a whole-value-chain platform rather than a conventional exhibition focused mainly on fresh or processed mushroom products.

Under the theme “Building Foundations · Connecting Resources · Leading the Future,” the Expo will bring together three major industry clusters:

Intelligent Production and Sustainable Infrastructure
This cluster will cover mushroom strains, substrates, production inputs, cultivation facilities, environmental control, factory production, automated harvesting, energy-saving technologies and digital management.

Deep Processing and Brand Innovation
This cluster will feature mushroom foods, snack products, seasonings, functional products, food-and-medicine products, branded packaging and cross-sector innovation.

Regional Specialities and Global Trade
This cluster will bring together major production regions, regional public brands, export enterprises, international products, purchasing channels and cross-border cooperation resources.

For international visitors, this integrated structure makes it possible to assess not only individual products or technologies, but also how cultivation, processing, branding, distribution and trade connect within China’s mushroom market.

Cultivation Technology in Focus

Cultivation is at the heart of the Expo. Visitors will be able to compare solutions for both traditional and factory-based production, from strain selection and substrate preparation to environmental control, harvesting and post-harvest handling.

The exhibition will connect growers with equipment manufacturers, engineering companies, strain and substrate suppliers, technical-service providers and production managers. The aim is not simply to display machines, but to show how different technologies work together inside a real cultivation system.

Key topics will include stable yields, crop consistency, contamination control, climate management, labour efficiency, energy use, traceability and the adaptation of production systems to different mushroom species and local conditions.

Technology for Real Production Challenges

Technology will be a central theme in Xiamen, with a clear emphasis on practical performance, operating cost and return on investment.

The Expo will explore how artificial intelligence, machine vision, robotics, production data and intelligent environmental-control systems can help mushroom enterprises:

• improve production consistency;

• reduce dependence on manual labour;

• monitor cultivation conditions more accurately;

• strengthen quality control and traceability;

• manage energy use more efficiently;

• lower unit production costs.

AI will not be presented as an isolated concept or promotional label. It will be considered alongside equipment, biological processes and the operational knowledge required for successful mushroom cultivation.

The wider technology agenda will also include automated harvesting, factory-production systems, energy-saving solutions, drying and freeze-drying equipment, processing technologies, product formulation, packaging and other value-added applications.

From the Farm to the Market

The Expo will also examine what happens after production. Hall B will bring together regional producers, processors, consumer brands, trading companies and distribution channels, allowing visitors to follow the path from raw mushroom materials to market-ready products.

Fresh and dried mushrooms, ingredients, snacks, seasonings, functional products, food-and-medicine products and branded regional specialities will be presented alongside processing, packaging and market-development solutions.

For overseas companies, this creates opportunities not only to source products, but also to understand Chinese consumer trends, identify distribution partners, introduce international products and explore cooperation with major production regions.
