The trade name of Stropharia rugosa is Agaricus rubra. It is one of the more prominent mushrooms in the international mushroom market. It is also a special variety recommended by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations for cultivation in developing countries and a new edible mushroom that has just emerged in northern my country in recent years. It has a fresh taste, is delicate and crisp, and is rich in nutrition. It is rich in protein and a variety of mineral elements and vitamins that are beneficial to the human body. It has a wide range of edible value.

Its cultivation technology is simple, the cultivation raw materials are extensive, the resistance to miscellaneous bacteria is strong, the cultivation success rate is high, the cost is low, and the environmental conditions are not high. It does not compete with farmers for time and land. At the same time, it can comprehensively utilize the fertile land of crop straw such as rice straw, rice husks, and corn stalks: Generally, mushrooms are produced after 45 days of planting, with large market demand and high economic benefits. In addition to fresh food, the processed product market also has potential. It can be processed into dry slices, salted products and frozen products. It is suitable for both large-scale development and family management, and has great market potential.

1. Growth conditions of Stropharia oleracea

1. Temperature

The growth temperature of Stropharia oleracea mycelium is 5~34℃, and the optimum temperature is 12~25℃. Below 12℃, the mycelium grows slowly, and above 35℃, the mycelium stops growing and is prone to aging and death. The temperature for primordium formation and fruiting body development is 4~30℃, and the optimum temperature is 14~25℃. Fruiting bodies are difficult to form and grow below 4℃ and above 30℃.

2. Moisture

The moisture content of the mycelium growth medium is required to be 65%~70%, the suitable air humidity for primordium differentiation is 90%~95%, and the suitable substrate moisture content for fruiting body growth and development is 70%.

3. Ventilation

The mycelium growth of Stropharia oleracea does not require high oxygen, and the carbon dioxide concentration cannot exceed 2%. The growth and development of fruiting bodies requires sufficient oxygen. Excessive carbon dioxide can easily lead to deformed mushrooms.

4. Light

No light is required during the mycelium growth stage, and the fruiting body growth requires 100~500lx light. Scattered sunlight can promote the robustness of fruiting bodies and improve quality.

5. pH value

Stropharia is suitable for growing in a weakly acidic environment. Mycelium can grow under the conditions of culture medium and soil pH value of 4~9, but 5~6.5 is suitable. The pH value of culture medium is 5~6 when fruiting body grows, and the pH value of covering material is 5.5~6.

2. Stropharia cultivation technology is simple, and the planting environment can be taken anywhere

my country mainly cultivates raw materials outdoors, mainly using winter fallow fields or woodlands, orchards, and tea gardens for planting. When using winter fallow fields or deciduous woodlands for planting, simple sheds can be built to shade or keep warm according to climatic conditions. When using orchards and tea gardens for planting, there is no need to build sheds. When the temperature is high, the shade of the trees can act as a natural barrier, which has the advantages of cooling, moisturizing, saving labor and saving effort. In addition, pots or bamboo baskets can be used for planting. This model is convenient for management and pest control, and is suitable for self-sufficiency or commercial planting. Farmers can choose the planting time and method according to the location and time. For example, they can arrange planting under the shade of trees in orchards in summer, and in winter fallow fields and woodlands in autumn and winter.
